Dhaka, May 12 – Following the government’s decision to officially ban the Awami League, police now have unrestricted authority to arrest its members and monitor digital platforms for any content supporting the party.
Previously, law enforcement faced legal ambiguity due to the absence of a formal ban, but officials confirm that the new directive removes all such barriers. Police personnel can now take immediate action against any public rallies, secret meetings, or online expressions in favor of the Awami League.
